Stability Chambers
Photostability Tests Completed Within 24 Hours. No Lie.
Percival Scientific manufactures the only chamber capable of completing a full photostability test that meets all requirements of ICH guideline Q1B within 24 hours.
How Do We Do It? It’s Our Advanced LED Lighting.
1. Combined Spectra: Model RX-3000L features proprietary LED panels that integrate the required visible sunlight (6500K) and ultraviolet (UVA) spectra, allowing the two spectral tests to run concurrently rather than sequentially. Several competing chambers use two separate lighting types, such as fluorescent tubes and UV bulbs.
2. Higher Intensity and Uniformity: With a white-light intensity of 52 klux, our chamber can meet the ICH recommendation of 1.2 Mlux in 23.5 hours. And because the lighting uniformity exceeds that of many competing chambers (better than +/-10% across the entire shelf), our chambers provide more usable shelf space, so more product can be tested per run.
Quadruple Your Throughput of High-Quality Testing
Percival photostability chambers, equipped with advanced LED lighting, allow you to test more samples at once and complete tests up to four times faster than other chambers on the market. This not only significantly boosts your testing throughput but also ensures your results meet ICH guidelines, thanks to the proven performance of our products.
Expand Your Testing Capabilities: A Chamber for Forced Degradation and Predictive Stability Studies
We engineered the RX-3600E to extend testing capabilities beyond conventional ICH accelerated stability conditions. With an expanded temperature range of 50–70°C, this chamber creates the precise elevated temperature and humidity conditions required for stress testing described in ICH Q1A(R2), Section 2.1.2, as well as Accelerated Predictive Stability (APS) and Accelerated Stability Assessment Program (ASAP) protocols.
The RX-3600E enables researchers to generate data for predictive stability modeling, specifically those using the humidity-modified Arrhenius equation. This data can provide earlier estimates of chemical stability to guide formulation, packaging and development decisions while complementing conventional ICH stability studies.
Dual ultrasonic and steam humidification systems provide an extensive range of tight humidity control during elevated temperature testing. At 70°C, the optional compressed air dryer package produces low-humidity conditions down to 5% RH, while steam humidification enables high-humidity conditions up to 75% RH.
Compared to conventional stability chambers, the RX-3600E offers researchers a broader range of precisely controlled conditions specifically for forced degradation studies and accelerated predictive stability testing—helping teams gain deeper insights into degradation behavior and make development decisions sooner.
